In 1974 DeWitt became one of the first pre-hospital cardiac care providers in New York State. Personnel also provided citizen CPR training in cooperation with the Town of DeWitt Parks and Recreation Department's "Save-a-Life" course. The equipment was purchased with the help of the DeWitt Rotary Club beginning the long tradition of providing high quality first-response advanced life support EMS to our residents. Today we salute all those who have been and continue to be part of our team.

We were certainly lucky to have the community, volunteer & career staff we had at the beginning… Seeing the pictures of what was & is everyday excellence at the DFD puts a real smile on my face… Stay safe … Great to see the proud service continue. 🐻
